She rose to prominence while working at Media Matters for America, where she gained popularity for her criticism of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. Abughazaleh studied extremism and genocide at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. She is a Palestinian American grassroots activist who ran for Congress in Illinois' 9th District as a Democrat, focusing on fighting fascism and taking on billionaires. Her campaign gained significant attention, though she lost the primary election. She continues to be active in political commentary and advocacy.
