Cooper Flagg is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association. Born in Newport, Maine, he was the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft and earned Rookie of the Year honors. Flagg played college basketball at Duke University, where he was named Gatorade National Player of the Year and Naismith Player of the Year. Standing 6'9", he is known for his versatility as a forward. He also won gold with the U.S. U17 national team at the 2022 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup. Flagg attended Montverde Academy and led Nokomis Regional High School to a state title.
